Warehouse District Street Festival (08.24.08)
Some friends and I attended the Warehouse District Street Festival on Sunday. What a great event– and a great day to be outside enjoying the nice weather. Covering two blocks of West 6th Street between Frankfort Court and Lakeside Avenue, the festival had a traditional “street fair” atmosphere with plenty to see and do. We had a wonderful time sampling food and drink from the Warehouse District restaurants, watching street performers and listening to live music performances. Various Cleveland Plus businesses and organizations had booths at the festival, including RTA which had one of the new HealthLine buses on display. (The HealthLine runs along Euclid Avenue between Public Square and University Circle and uses eco-friendly diesel/electric buses.) Working in a visitor center I’ve heard many Greater Clevelanders comment that they would like to see more events of this type in Downtown Cleveland . . . those that have that “old-fashioned” feel. Well, here we have one and I think more people should take advantage of events like the Warehouse District Street Festival.– CMusselman
