This Weekend in Cleveland: January 31 – February 2, 2014

Friday is the night to unwind with a beer and some of your closest friends. Saturday is a day to indulge your sweet tooth with every type of chocolate you can imagine and on Sunday there’s the chance to escape the chaos and flying chips of Super Bowl parties by catching a play or attending a number of other events happening in Cleveland this weekend.

More events can be found on our searchable calendar.

1/31 – 2/1: Cleveland Winter Beerfest – Cleveland Convention Center, Downtown Cleveland

Kick off an exciting weekend in the best way possible with great craft beer at the inaugural Cleveland Winter Beerfest.  The festival features more than 175,000 square feet of different craft beers from down the street and around the country for you to taste.  Whether you love all types of brew or have a more particular taste there is no better place to spend a blustery weekend.

2/1: “For the Love of Chocolate Festival” – Medina  Performing Arts Center, Medina

Turn left, turn right, spin around in a complete circle; everywhere you look there are mouthwatering chocolate creations. The 17th Annual Red Cross Chocolate Festival has everything from chocolate chip cookies and brownies to truffles and lollipops. This family-oriented event features a children’s chocolate cookie contest, a decedent chocolate dessert contest, and a children’s candyland area with games and amusements. Bring the family down for a deliciously sweet time.

2/1: Groundhog Fun Day – The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, University Circle

Spend Saturday learning more about the little critter that will hopefully tell us we will have a very, very early spring. Bring the kids down to Groundhog Fun Day at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History where there will be live animals, crafts and demonstrations relating to the history of the woodchuck. Not only will kids enjoy crawling through a tunnel to see their shadow but they can meet our very own Lake Erie Eddie, as well.
