It’s the end of the week! Time to sip a glass of wine in the park, shake the hand of a hometown baseball hero and celebrate the Chinese New Year.

1/25: Heading South for the Winter, A Taste of South American Wines – Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, Northside Station, Akron

Invite some friends you haven’t seen in a while and unwind with a glass wine on board the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad for the “Grape Escape.” Sit back and enjoy a calm two-hour trip through the park while sampling five unique wines. Each wine is served with chef-prepared hors d’oeuvres from Moe’s Restaurant of Cuyahoga Falls. To participate, you must be 21 with a valid ID.

1/25-1/26: Cleveland Indians Tribe Fest – Progressive Field, Downtown Cleveland

Spring is a magical word that brings to mind flowers, fresh air, weather that doesn’t require ten minutes to prepare for and baseball. While it isn’t quite baseball season yet you can start preparing for it by attending the second annual Tribe Fest at Progressive Field. This two-day event hosts a variety of activities including autograph sessions, batting cages, tours of the home clubhouse and question-and-answer sessions with broadcasters, players and others. Tribe Fest promises to be the perfect event to relieve some of those winter blues.

1/25-26: Lunar New Year Celebration at Asian Town Center – Asian Town Center, Cleveland

Bet you didn’t know it was the year of the Horse? Do you have any idea what that means? If not come down to Asian Town Center to celebrate the Lunar New Year and gain a better understanding of this holiday. The Lunar New Year (or Chinese New Year) is the most celebrated holiday in Asia and Asian American communities throughout the U.S. The event is free and will include a number of cultural performances to help ring in this new year.
