Gloves? Check. Hat? Check. Boots? Check. Now that you are bundled up you are ready to leave the confines of your house behind. There is no better cure for cabin fever then attending some of the fantastic events that are taking place throughout the city this weekend.
Also, remember Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and there are a number of events throughout Cleveland for you to attend in his honor as well.

1/17-1/27: MLK Celebration: Embracing the Past, Empowering the Present, Envisioning the Future – Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland
Case Western Reserve University will hold a number of events throughout the week to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Come listen to speeches, participate in book discussions, take in art and learn about the work that continues to be done in Dr. King’s name. Also don’t miss the 24th Annual MLK convocation featuring Wil Haygood, the author of The Butler: A Witness to History.
1/16-1/20: Mid-American Boat and Fishing Show – I-X Center, Cleveland
Appease that gnawing desire to be back on the water or battling that prize catch on the shore of Lake Erie by attending The Mid-American Boat and Fishing show at the I-X Center. Spend the day checking out more than three hundred new boats and watercraft, the latest accessories, product demos and more. With a special appearance by Wicked Tuna Captain Tyler McLaughlin and plenty of activities for the kids, there is more than enough to get you ready for the warm weather ahead.
1/18: The Resurgence of the Canned Beer – Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, Northside Station, Akron
What better way to take in the beauty of winter and the snow then with a refreshing beer from the inside of a warm and cozy rail car? Hop aboard Ale on Rails, Beer Tasting with Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and sample five unique canned beers served with delicious appetizers prepared by Moe’s Restaurant of Cuyahoga Falls. You must be 21 to participate and reservations are required.
