12/16-30: December Days at the Zoo – Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and Rainforest, Cleveland
What better way to finish off another fabulous holiday season then with a trip to the zoo. Join some of your favorite cold weather friends for a day of holiday fun. At December Days at the Zoo at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and Rainforest, you can enjoy some fantastic seasonal activities including holiday crafts, live music, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Clause (Dec 16-24 only), cookie decorating and more.
12/21: Winter Solstice Candlelight Walk – The West Woods Nature Center, Geauga Park District
Bring some light into the longest night of the year at the Winter Solstice Candlelight Walk. Take an interactive walk through Geauga Parks reservation and learn about how different civilizations throughout time observed the winter solstice. Then, enjoy hot beverages and traditional holiday music from the Pilgrim Brass Choir inside the nature center.
12/22-1/05: Wild Days of Winter– Lake Metroparks: Penitentiary Glen Reservation, Kirtland
As you are preparing gifts for loved ones or enjoying your own gifts, stop by the Wild Days of Winter to learn about what Mother Nature’s gives to us during this winter season. On a life-sized game board guided by the familiar holiday song, “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” visitors can take a turn to pop the dice, move along from space to space and discover through interactive play all the wonderful things nature gives to us each year. There also are family crafts, activity pages and scavenger hunts, as well as a classic board game exhibition.
