This Weekend in CLE: December 13-15, 2013

Weekend Blog December 13Everyone’s favorite part of the week is here again, the weekend.  Shake off that work week and have some fun.  Need some ideas? Why not have a beer at BrewHaHa in Tremont? Or run off some of that stress and excess Thanksgiving weight at The Santa Hustle. Enjoy your free days with one or more of these fun and exciting events.

12/13-15: BrewHaHa in Tremont – Tremont Neighborhood, Cleveland

What better way to wind down from the stress of gift shopping then with holiday cheer in the form of delicious beer? Tremont’s main seasonal event is the perfect way to continue to enjoy this time of year.  On Friday, experience the Tremont Brewhop and Tremont Artwalk while Lolly the Trolley drives you from location to location. Then, on Saturday, go for a mile run through the neighborhood dressed as Old Saint Nick for the Santa Shuffle. As you cool down enjoy some of the great specials at the neighborhood restaurants. Finally, on Sunday, the festivities conclude with a holiday concert from the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra at the historic Zion United Church of Christ. After the concert, enjoy a Wine-Down, featuring wine specials from neighborhood wine shops.

12/14: Wrapped in Tradition Gordon Square Arts District and 78th Street Studios, Detroit Shoreway

Bring the family down to Gordon Square for a holiday event wrapped in tradition and one that will take you back to your own childhood, as you bring the kids to meet Mr. Jingleling. Visit the Cleveland Bazaar Craft Fair inside the 78th Street Studios or the Winter Market inside the Gordon Square Arcade. Cap off the night with some classic holiday fun complete with ice sculpting and horse-drawn carriage rides.

12/15: The Santa Hustle – Castaway Bay, Sandusky

Exercise is said to be a great way to calm the mind.  While this is true, during the holidays   you need to kick it up a notch. Calm your mind after battling those holiday crowds by dressing as the big jolly man himself and running with thousands of Santas through the streets of Sandusky at the Second Annual Santa Hustle Half Marathon 5K Run/Walk. The race starts at 9am and each participant receives a free Santa hat, beard and customized Santa shirt to wear during the race. After the race, enjoy holiday decorations, seasonal music and an after party.
