Labor Day Weekend in CLE: August 31- September 1, 2013

Geauga County FairThis Labor Day Weekend, head to Put-In-Bay to witness a Tall Ships reenactment of the historic Battle of Lake Erie. Then, take part in the oldest annual county fair in Ohio, The Great Geauga County Fair at the Geauga County Fairgrounds. Afterwards, celebrate German heritage at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds at the Cleveland Labor Day Oktoberfest. Are you a fan of The Beatles? If so, “Come Together” and enjoy the tunes of the iconic rock band at Abbey Road on the River at the Holiday Inn Independence. Finally, be sure to catch all the action as 2,000 athletes compete from around the world in the NACB Gaelic Games held at the Barton-Bradley Sports Complex in North Olmsted.

The Battle of Lake Erie – Put-In-Bay

This weekend, (8/29-9/10) attend The Battle of Lake Erie Bicentennial Celebration. This two-week event includes a Tall Ships reenactment of the historic Battle of Lake Erie on 9/2. Throughout the following week, visitors can tour the ships, enjoy live music, food, national speakers, fireworks, a boating parade and more. The Great Geauga County Fair – Geauga County Fairgrounds, Burton

Celebrate Labor Day Weekend (8/29-9/2) at the oldest county fair in Ohio and one of the longest running agricultural fairs in the country, The Great Geauga County Fair at the Geauga County Fairgrounds in Burton Ohio. NACB Gaelic Games – Barton-Bradley Sports Complex, North Olmsted

This Labor Day Weekend, (8/30-9/1) watch as 2,000 athletes from around the United States compete in traditional Gaelic sporting events such as Gaelic football, hurling and camogie at the NACB Gaelic Games in the Barton-Bradley Sports Complex in North Olmsted. Post-game events and live music will be held at Kamm’s Corner neighborhood bars and restaurants with a shuttle service running from the host hotels to the Kamm’s Corner district nightly from 8pm to 11pm.
