This Weekend in Cleveland: June 29-30, 2013

This weekend, come out to Voinovich Park to celebrate with Cleveland’s LGBT community at the Cleveland Pride Festival. Then continue the weekend with the colorful and vibrant Waterloo Arts Festival. Finally, head over to the Museum of Contemporary Art to experience the new exhibit, Realization is Better than Anticipation.

Cleveland Pride Parade and Festival – Voinovich Park, Downtown Cleveland

This Saturday, the Cleveland Pride Parade and Festival returns to Voinovich Park located behind the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the Great Lakes Science Center in Downtown Cleveland. The largest Northeast Ohio LGBTQ festival, Cleveland Pride features a parade, musical entertainment, food vendors and a lakeside beer garden. Waterloo Arts Festival – North Collinwood, Cleveland

The Waterloo Arts Fest is one of Cleveland’s most vibrant and exciting street festivals. Taking place on Waterloo Road in the North Collinwood neighborhood, the festival draws 5,000 people annually to celebrate the area’s performance art, music, street art, galleries and community organizations.  Featuring a pop-up art studio, stellar food trucks, performance artists ranging from stilt-walkers to jugglers and a Rock ‘N’ Roll flea market at the Beachland Ballroom, this hip festival is not to be missed. Realization is Better than Anticipation Museum of Contemporary Art

This weekend marks the opening of the new exhibit Realization is Better Than Anticipation at the Museum of Contemporary Art. The exhibit features work from 12 established and emerging Midwest-based artists (Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh) in an effort to demonstrate the act of creation.
