This Weekend in Cleveland: June 8-9, 2013

Parade the CircleTake to the streets this weekend– street festivals that is. Saturday, head to Parade the Circle at Wade Oval in University Circle. Once you’re all paraded out, hop on Lolly the Trolley to Gordon Square’s pARTy in the Square. Then, end the day on Lake Erie at the North Coast Boating & Fishing Festival at the East 55th Street Marina in Cleveland Lakefront State Park.

Parade the Circle – Wade Oval, University Circle, Cleveland

This Saturday, enjoy the festival season at one of Cleveland’s signature events, drawing more than 60,000 onlookers, Parade the Circle. Beginning at noon, the streets of Wade Oval in University Circle will be paraded by dramatic and colorful floats, stilt-walkers, puppets, musicians and dancers. This free festival also features Circle Village where visitors can partake in an afternoon of activities, live music, and, of course, delicious food. pARTy in the Square – Detroit Shoreway, Gordon Square, Cleveland

Also happening Saturday is this year’s pARTy in the Square festival in the Gordon Square neighborhood. Come see outdoor stage performances from the Cleveland Public Theatre and Near West Theatre while enjoying gourmet food truck cuisine, beer gardens, art exhibitions, historic home tours and more. North Coast Boating & Fishing Festival – East 55th St. Marina, Cleveland Lakefront State Park

Summer in Cleveland wouldn’t be the same without a boat ride on beautiful Lake Erie. So, this weekend, get your sea legs ready and head over to the East 55th Street Marina in Cleveland Lakefront State Park. While there, enjoy free recreational sail and powerboat rides, free fishing tips for kids on the Holiday charter boat and tour the Grandon, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife’s fish research vessel.
