The opening of Cleveland's new HealthLine.
The RTA HealthLine officially opened Friday, October 24, 2008 and most of our office was there for the celebration. Since our offices moved into the old Higbee Building on Public Square, we’ve seen a lot of construction and progress over the last year.
Traveling the Euclid Avenue Corridor between Public Square in downtown Cleveland and the Louis Stokes Station at Windermere in East Cleveland, the HealthLine will provide faster, more efficient service between downtown (including PlayhouseSquare and Cleveland State University), the Cleveland Clinic campus, University Circle (including Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals), and the suburb of East Cleveland. In addition to RTA’s sleek, new, more eco-friendly buses, Euclid Avenue has received an update, too. New, modern, technologically advanced HealthLine stations now adorn Euclid Avenue. New sidewalks, foliage, and streetscapes are also part of the visual package. And building restoration and new businesses are already popping up everywhere along the renewed Euclid Avenue Corridor. The HealthLine is sponsored by the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals. For more information on the HealthLine, please visit its website at www.rtahealthline.com.
